Bijan Sanii - President & CEO of INETCO

Bijan Sanii

President & CEO of INETCO

Bijan Sanii has more than 20 years history as a technology industry executive. Before joining INETCO, Bijan was Executive Chair at UB Video, which developed one of the key enabling technologies for video over IP. He provided leadership and guidance that culminated in the acquisition of the company by Scientific-Atlanta (now a Cisco company).

Prior to UB Video, Bijan joined Infowave Software in 1997. As General Manager of the Imaging Division, he successfully led a restructuring of the business and generated a record operating profit in 1998. He was later appointed Infowave’s Chief Operating Officer and CEO, driving Infowave’s IPO and strategic partnership agreements with Intel Corp, Compaq Computer Corporation, and other technology industry leaders.

Bijan was born in London, U.K. and graduated with honors from the Polytechnic of Central London (now University of Westminster) with a B.A. in Economics. He currently sits on the board of Disternet, a digital media entertainment company based in Richmond, British Columbia. Bijan is also a charter member of the TiE Indus Entrepreneurs, and an active partner within BC Social Venture Partners.

Angus Telfer - Founder & CTO of INETCO

Angus Telfer is instrumental in the design and development of all INETCO technologies and products, including the recently introduced business transaction intelligence technology, and INETCO’s established communications products for high reliability, high performance transaction networks. These products are installed in a large number of small to large enterprises in 50 nations worldwide.

Prior to starting INETCO in 1984, Angus held research and development positions in a number of companies including Bell Northern Research, Bell Telephone Laboratories, MPR Teltech, and Network Consulting Inc. In these positions he designed and developed technologies involving quality of service measurement, voice communications and recognition, protocol analysis, network monitoring and billing, and interactive graphical display.

Angus is a Professional Engineer and holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta and a Masters of Engineering from the University of Waterloo. An original member of the IEEE 802 standards committee, Angus frequently contributed to the IEC Annual Review of Communications, and continues to be involved in various technical groups involving communications and event processing.

Dallas Pretty, CA - Chief Financial Officer

Chief Financial Officer

Dallas brings more than 20 years of corporate finance experience focused mainly in the technology sector. He has supervised the finances, operations and process improvements of rapidly growing companies, has participated in mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings and has managed public company reporting. His extensive technology industry experience also includes senior finance roles at Unity Wireless, Meridex Software, and Sideware Systems.

Prior to leaving public practice, Dallas was a manager in the audit and advisory services group at KPMG LLP, where he worked with a portfolio of private and public companies primarily in the technology sector.

Dallas holds a Chartered Accountant designation and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University.

Gord Chan - VP, Strategic Sales

Gordon Chan has over 25 years of experience working with banking and payment systems technology. He has been instrumental in the evolution of many areas of INETCO, including product development, support processes, and most recently, sales management and channel partner expansion.

As VP of Strategic Sales, Gord drives the sales and global partner alliance strategies for all INETCO communications gateway and transaction monitoring products. He has a proven track record that includes the expansion of INETCO’s customer base to over 50 new countries, and the recent tripling of INETCO Insight year-over-year product revenues (2009-2010). Gord also manages some of the Company’s largest banking, telecommunications and payment processing customers, including Telstra, Telecom New Zealand, Jack Henry & Associates, Inc., TNSi, and First Data.

Gord has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Computer Engineering) from the University of British Columbia and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC.

Marc Borbas - VP, Global Sales

VP, Global Sales

Marc Borbas has worked in the application and network security software industry for more than 12 years, with an extensive background in marketing, business strategy and product development.

Prior to joining INETCO, Marc was Group Product Manager at Sophos, a leading network security company based in the United Kingdom. He was the catalyst behind Sophos’s strategic investment in the web security market and drove the resulting product from inception through full market launch.

Before Sophos, Marc was a Senior Product Marketing Manager at Business Objects, a leading business intelligence company. He joined Business Objects through its 2003 acquisition of Crystal Decisions, where he was a key member of the team that built the Crystal brand and marketing strategy and delivered 30% year-over- year revenue growth over 11 straight quarters.

Prior to that, he held technical marketing positions at Fincentric, a provider of financial services software. Marc has a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Computing Science from Simon Fraser University.

Stacy Gorkoff - VP, Marketing & Channel Development

Stacy Gorkoff

Stacy is responsible for overseeing strategic marketing, brand awareness and communication initiatives for INETCO.

Stacy has over 15 years of experience working with leading edge network monitoring and application performance management companies in a marketing, communications and business development capacity. She has a passion for innovation, and is dedicated to increasing sales growth through the fostering of customer relationships and delivery of results-driven marketing programs.

Prior to INETCO, Stacy worked at Apparent Networks Inc. (Now AppNeta), where she was able to achieve double digit growth in account revenues through targeted marketing campaigns and the cultivation of strong customer relationships. She oversaw the successful roll-outs of the AppNeta product for major accounts such as ACS Inc., The Boeing Company, Rogers and HP.

Previous to AppNeta, Stacy worked as the Director of Marketing for start-up IDELIX Software Inc., where she developed the company’s overall marketing and communications strategy. During her time at IDELIX, Stacy established strategic technology partnerships and alliances with a number of defense and intelligence agencies within the USA, Canada, Australia and the UK. She oversaw the Company’s participation in various world-wide military technology demonstration programs and events, and was an active representative within the US Geospatial Intelligence Foundation.

Kambiz Asrar Haghighi  - VP, Product Management

Kambiz Asrar Haghighi

VP, Product Management

Kambiz Asrar Haghighi is responsible for INETCO’s product portfolio and providing market-driven vision to the company priorities. With a track record of success conceptualizing, developing, and bringing to market innovative solutions, Kambiz is responsible for establishing the product roadmap, understanding market problems, and translating those needs into a valued solution. For more than 10 years, Kambiz has worked with customers to develop solutions to meet their needs.

Prior to INETCO, Kambiz worked as the Director of Retail Solutions at LightHaus Logic responsible for the strategic direction of their products in the retail market. In addition, he developed global channel partnerships in Asia, the Middle-East and Africa to expand LightHaus’ reach outside of North America. Kambiz was instrumental in securing major deals such as Foot Locker, AutoZone and Advance Auto Parts.

Previous to LightHaus, Kambiz was a technical solution consultant in Dubai on many of the country’s innovative economic development projects. He oversaw projects such as The Emirates Palace, The Burj Al Arab and the The Dubai Yacht. Kambiz holds a master’s degree in business administration and a master’s of applied science degree in Electrical Engineering, both from the University of British Columbia. In addition, Kambiz is an active member of the CPA CMA community in Vancouver.

Ugan Naidoo - VP, Engineering and Services

VP, Engineering and Services

Ugan is responsible for Engineering and Services within INETCO Systems Ltd.  He has over twenty years of experience across business, engineering and technology disciplines, helping organizations solve complex business problems with technology.

Prior to joining INETCO, Ugan has held leadership positions in the following organizations: CA Technologies (Managing Director, CA Security); Fujitsu (Head of Consulting); PricewaterhouseCoopers (Snr Manager).

A Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng), Ugan holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree.

Mercedes De Luca - VP & GM eCommerce, Sears Holdings Corporation

Mercedes De Luca

VP & GM eCommerce, Sears Holdings Corporation

Mercedes De Luca is an Internet ecommerce technology leader who creates digital experiences that delight customers of public corporations and start ups. She excels at bringing the startup innovation mindset to large corporate environments. She has held a number of executive roles, including vice president and general manager for Sears Holdings Corporation’s ecommerce business. Prior to that, she was CEO and chief technology officer of venture-backed MyShape. Mercedes joined MyShape from Yahoo!, where she established the company’s first global information technology team and was the first female vice president. Most recently, De Luca served as chief operating officer for Basecamp, a SaaS workplace collaboration platform.

Mercedes brings digital innovation to both startups and large companies, including private and publicly held organizations navigating digital transformations. By using her technology and operational business leadership skills and her creative mindset, she has grown businesses and transformed even matrixed organizations to reach their strategic goals.

Keith Spencer - Partner at Fasken Martineau

Keith Spencer is a partner with the law firm of Fasken Martineau and is the Chair of the Vancouver office’s Securities and Technology Practice Group. Keith’s clients range from start-up to mature private technology companies. Keith was previously in-house counsel to the Vancouver-based Wireless Data Group of Motorola, Inc., where he had overall responsibility for its legal affairs.

Keith has lectured in the area of technology and intellectual property law at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law and at various Continuing Legal Education and Information Technology industry conferences. He has also authored articles in the areas of computer and information technology, outsourcing, e-commerce and intellectual property law.

Keith is a member of various boards and advisory boards for a significant number of early stage and emerging technology companies and technology industry associations, including Elastic Path Software, INETCO Systems, dPoint Technologies, TalentClick, Envisio Solutions, the BC Technology Industry Association, Vancouver Enterprise Forum, TiE (Charter Member), and the BC Science Fair Foundation. Keith was previously a member of the Board of Directors of BuildDirect of Layer 7 Technologies (acquired by CA) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dyaptive Systems (acquired by JDSU).

Michael Tasooji - IT Strategy Consultant

Michael Tasooji, has more than 30 years of hands on experience in the IT industry.  He recently served as EVP and CIO of Quiksilver Inc., a $2B global leader in action sports inspired apparel and footwear, where he established and spearheaded execution of a 3 year plan to establish the foundation for global business operations. He is currently an IT strategy consultant on assignment with a leading outdoor/sports apparel and footwear company in Portland, Oregon.

Prior to Quiksilver Inc., Michael spent 5 years at Gap Inc. as EVP and CIO.  Gap Inc. revenue at the time was $15 billion with products available for purchase in more than 90 countries worldwide through about 3,100 company-operated stores, more than 300 franchise stores, and e-commerce sites.  As a member of the senior management team, Michael was responsible for overhauling the company’s Information technology landscape in support of plans to significantly improve margin, reduce SG&A, and increase global sales through international expansion and E-Commerce.

Michael also spent 12 years at the Walt Disney Company.  As the Global CIO, Michael lead execution of a strategy to rationalize IT services and corresponding investments among Disney business units, segments, and corporate shared services.  This effort resulted in over $200m in annualized efficiencies within IT globally.  During his time as CIO of Disney Theme Parks & Resorts, Michael and his team developed and implemented innovative transformational technologies, such as FastPass, and developed the blueprint technology architecture for guest-centric Theme Parks & Resorts sales and operations.

Since 2008, Michael has served on the board of several startups, including Runa Inc. (e-Commerce technology) and Arges Inc. (medical devices) both of which were acquired after successfully bringing products into market.  Currently, Michael is on the board of directors for INETCO Systems Limited, Acceptto Inc., and Sparo Corporation.

Michael obtained his undergraduate degree and his MBA from the University of Southern California. He served on the Corporate Advisory Board of University of Southern California Marshall School of Business and CIO advisory board for Oracle Corporation.

Lance Tracey - Internet Entrepreneur

Internet Entrepreneur

Lance is a life long technology enthusiast and early adopter of technology, both personally and through his businesses. Lance co-founded Peer 1 Networks in 1999, and until its acquisition in January 2013 by Cogeco Cable for $635 million, sat as the company’s Chairman of the Board. Between 2005 and 2007 he also acted as Peer 1’s President and Chief Executive Officer.

As a serial entrepreneur, Lance has been involved in a variety of high-tech and real-estate ventures throughout his career. He co-founded Sutton Group Realty Services, Internet Direct, and E-xact Transactions. He has funded dozens of recent start ups through the Code Group of Companies.

In addition to sitting on INETCO’s Board of Directors, Lance also sits on the Board at Payfirma, and maintains his position as Founding Partner with Full Stack Foundry, an angel investment firm that works with and funds early stage companies.

Joseph Timlin - Vice President, Investments for GrowthWorks Capital Ltd.

Mr. Timlin joined GrowthWorks Capital in 2002 focusing on software and information technology investments. Prior to joining GrowthWorks he worked for four years with BDC’s Venture Capital Group focusing on information technology and alternative energy investments. Mr. Timlin has experience in technical sales and sales management in the municipal and industrial water and waste industry, and has worked as a construction engineer. Mr. Timlin has a BSc in Civil Engineering from Queen’s University and a MBA from UBC. Mr. Timlin is currently on the Board of Directors of GenoLogics Life Sciences Software Inc., Mixpo Portfolio Broadcasting Inc., ResponseTek Networks Corp., Sandbox Technologies Inc., and Teradici Corp.

Currently, Michael is a Board Observer for INETCO Systems Ltd.

Dr. Michael Blackstock - CTO of Sense Tecnic Systems Inc.

Dr. Michael Blackstock, PhD, is a veteran technology leader specializing in enterprise middleware for wireless and pervasive computing.  He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Media and Graphics Interdisciplinary Centre (MAGIC) at the University of British Columbia and CTO of Sense Tecnic Systems Inc. developing web-based platforms for sensing and sustainability.

Previously, he was a co-founder and CTO of Colligo Networks, Inc., a leading provider of peer-to-peer wireless productivity software designed for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth ™ enabled notebooks, Tablet PCs, and handhelds. Before founding Colligo, Michael was the Vice President of Research and Development for Infowave Software, Inc., a global provider of software that connects enterprise applications to wireless devices. In 1994, he was hailed as one of the top ’40 under 40′ young entrepreneurs in British Columbia.

Michael holds a Bachelors of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia, a Masters Degree in Computer Science from Simon Fraser University and a PhD in Computer Science from UBC.

Scott is President and Chief Executive Officer of Franklin O’Hara Holdings Ltd., a wealth management firm in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Franklin O’Hara Holdings Ltd. is focused on providing investor advisory services and management solutions to industry sectors including information technology, municipal, provincial and federal governments, financial industry and real estate.

In addition to being an accomplished angel investor, Scott is a technology industry veteran with more than 25 years, sales, marketing and management experience.

Prior to starting Franklin O’Hara Holdings Ltd., Scott was the Director of Global Accounts with Nortel Networks. He worked with CB Richard Ellis, one of the world’s largest Commercial Real Estate firms, providing investment sales and leasing advisory. Scott has also worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, acting as an independent contractor focusing on sales, relationship management and business development. Scott was an investor in, and acted as Vice President Sales, for Wildfire Canada Inc., a voice recognition technology firm that was sold to an international telecom utility.

Scott has various interests including architecture and project management. He designed and built an award-winning residential project in 2003-04. Scott is an art collector and enjoys both travel and golf.

Dr. Loki Jorgenson - CTO, LionsGate Technologies Inc. (LGTmedical)

Loki Jorgenson provides INETCO with valuable thought leadership on a range of application management and performance topics. As the author of 10 filed technology patents, Loki has a proven track record of innovation and strategic IP development.  Recognized by Tech Target as an expert in network performance, Loki Jorgenson has regularly been a featured speaker at industry conferences and academic symposiums and has been active with standards bodies such as the IETF.

Loki Jorgenson is currently the Chief Technology Officer of the mobile health company LionsGate Technology.  He was previously Chief Scientist for INETCO advancing business transaction analysis, and Chief Scientist and co-founder of Apparent Networks Inc. (now AppNeta).  Prior to Apparent Networks, Loki co-founded the Centre for Experimental and Constructive Mathematics at Simon Fraser University.  His past research has included expert systems, VoIP/video modeling, network performance and diagnostics, packet behavior analysis, high performance and grid networks, collaborative and distance learning, scientific visualization and algorithms development for mathematics.

Loki earned his doctorate from McGill University in 1993, specializing in statistical mechanics and computational physics.

Jim McIntosh

A serial entrepreneur in the technology business for more than 25 years, Jim McIntosh has been instrumental in advancing products from concept stage to world-class, money-making innovations. Jim played a critical role in the build out of  INETCO’s strategic partnership with NCR and other Fortune 500 business accounts.

Former CEO of HABIT Research and Locator Systems Corporation and former President and CEO of Infowave Software and GDT Softworks Inc., he has first-hand experience leading companies to profitability.

Revenues for HABIT Research and Locator Systems Corporation grew more than 450 percent before the company was sold in 2008 to LoJack Corporation. Jim was also responsible for Infowave’s ascent to world-leader status in printer driver software for the Macintosh operating system and then leading the company into the then emerging wireless messaging market by developing software for wireless access to corporate information. During his tenure, Infowave was a recognized technology leader in enterprise wireless solutions with a market cap in excess of C$350m.

Lonny Mclean - Entrepreneur

Lonny McLean is an experienced, energetic business executive focused on business growth strategy. Lonny has more than 20 years experience in the technology sector, with a primary focus on Software and Internet technologies. He has a proven background in building early stage companies, as well as growth strategies for more mature organizations.

Lonny has played key roles in multiple early stage company successes such as Supernet, Onyx Software, and Layer 7 Technologies. He held a territory growth role for Microsoft where he focused on large account strategies and executive relationship building with some of Microsoft’s top accounts. This combined experience provides Lonny with a unique blend of skills which he applies to companies of all stages.

Building teams, fundraising, charting strategy, and growing revenue are Lonny’s core strengths. He was the founding CEO and top sales executive for Layer 7 Technologies for more than 8 years, during which time the company was recognized as the BC Technology Industry Start-up of the Year, Company of the Year, and by Deloitte as one of the fastest technology companies in North America. This revenue growth and company strategy was key in the successful sale of Layer 7 to CA Technologies in 2013.

From the time of his initial Ph.D. thesis in theoretical physics to his current role at Recon, Mario has been determining how to address complex technical problems that demand innovative high-performance computing solutions. Prior to Recon Instruments, Mario was the CTO at LightHaus VCI, overseeing all aspects of technology innovation and product engineering.

Dr. Palumbo was also VP of Engineering at Spectrum Signal Processing, responsible for hardware and software development of wireless software-defined radio products and high-density VoIP products. Dr. Palumbo received his bachelor of science degree from Binghamton University and both his master’s of science and his Ph.D. in physics from Purdue University.

Sal Visca is a Principal Consultant for “Software CTO Inc”, a consultancy providing technology strategy and architecture advisory services.  Currently, he serves as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Elastic Path Software after several years as CTO for SAP’s Technology Development division and CTO at Business Objects prior to the acquisition by SAP.  Previously,  Mr. Visca was the CTO and Co-President of Infowave Software as well as being with IBM for 12 years where he was Software Development Executive for e-business solutions.

Mr. Visca has a proven track record for developing product and technology roadmaps, understanding emerging markets and technologies, conceiving, designing, testing and bringing to market new customer-oriented products and solutions. Mr. Visca has over twenty-three years of intensive software development experience with specific emphasis on creating long-term product and technology strategies.

Andy Kozma - Executive Vice President at Scope Media Inc.

Andy has over 15 years experience as a business director with responsibility in sales, marketing, financial and operational management. He is a recognized team leader with highly influential communication execution lending to consensus building in an organization. An energetic problem solver, Andy is no stranger to re-engineering companies and working within start-up environments.

Andy held the position as Global Cash Solution Sales Director for NCR Corporation, a global leader in consumer transactions. He was responsible for leading the global sales team, providing cash cost optimization software for financial institutions and retailers. He successfully devised and implemented unique strategies to penetrate new markets, increase brand recognition and generate significant revenue.

Andy has a BA in International Finance and Marketing from the University of Miami.

Darren Horne - VP, Sales

Darren Horne has over 25 years of sales experience, specializing in bringing new products to market and expanding customer reach. His experience includes managing global teams and partners, as well as driving sales in over 30 countries and to hundreds of customers including Shell, RBS, AXA, Audi, HP, NTT, Reliance, and Orange.

Darren spent 10 years at Layer 7 Technologies (purchased by CA Technologies in June, 2013). Darren built the foundation of early customers, then led the global growth strategy to expand business into new markets and customer segments. Darren worked closely with customers, leveraging the strong relationships he created to help place Layer 7 at the top of the Forester Wave and in the leaders quadrant for Gartner.
